6th Annual Seedy Saturday
The 6th Annual Richmond Seedy Saturday is a celebration of local seeds and foods, gardening, and education that supports a healthy, strong community.
At the event there will be:
- A Seed swap table
- Seed Vendors
- Seed library display
- Community Information table
In addition to seeds, vendors will be selling:
- Fruit trees
- Berry bushes
- Horse Manure and worms for sale
- and more!
There will also be activities for kids, such as seed bomb making and seed planting.
For those of you unfamiliar with seed bombs, they are a little ball made up of a combination of compost, clay and seeds. The seed bomb can be tossed into barren or sparsely covered areas to help promote the growth of new plants.
The event takes place on Saturday March 1st from 10 am -1 pm at the Thompson Community Centre (5151 Granville Avenue). The event tables will be set up in the preschool rooms behind the Centre.
So come on down and get a start on the growing season!
