Join Get Rooted! and the Richmond Food Security Society (RFSS) in our upcoming youth food security forum! Experience a FREE fun event participating in hands-on activities, learning about food security and its importance in our day-to-day lives, while interacting with other like-minded individuals.

Who We Are:
The Richmond Food Security Society is a community organization committed to building a nutritious, safe, secure, and affordable food system through education, skills development, research, and policy change.

The “Get Rooted! Growing Youth Leaders in the Food Movement” is a youth-driven leadership project aimed at engaging and mobilizing youth to address the root causes of food insecurity, and to build a fair and sustainable food future.

Purpose of the Event:
We want to connect and train youth to take action. We are building a network of youth engaged in the food movement. This event can lead to the creation of ‘food advocates’ in Richmond, to initiate future projects/actions such as establishing school gardens, running workshops, holding monthly meetings, and spearheading food security campaigns.
