Winter Gardening

Learn techniques to maximize your veggie garden production by taking advantage of the cooler shoulder seasons of fall, winter and spring. Learn what to grow during these seasons, how to protect your plants,  and how to harvest them. Or if you do not plan to grow until summer, learn how to prep your garden in the cooler seasons to get the most out of it when you do decide to plant.

Unless otherwise indicated, all workshops will be led by Susan Lee Hem, who will share the knowledge gained through her work as The Sharing Farm Society’s greenhouse manager, as a founding member of Richmond Urban Farmers, as the owner of Small Space Gardening and Design, as well as from her experience of growing food on her own townhouse balcony.
